Port Elizabeth is one of South Africa’s safest and friendliest cities.

Nelson Mandela Bay offers varied sporting facilities and the city hosts numerous sports events all year round. The many different sport clubs cater for a variety of all year or seasonal sport activities such as; squash, volleyball, badminton, tennis, roller hockey, cricket, motor racing, horse racing, soccer, hockey, golf, bowls and rugby. The city hosts a variety of national and international sporting events at various venues such as the Sahara Oval St. Georges and the newly build stadium, which was constructed for 2010 FIFA World Cup and regularly hosts rugby games, soccer games and music festivals. Race Courses such as Arlington and the Fairview Race Course provides entertainment for both locals and tourists. The Boardwalk is another exciting leisure attraction in the Eastern Cape, offering 24-hour entertainment for the whole family. Kragga Kamma Game Park
Only a few minutes drive from Retreat on Main, you can enjoy a coastal forest and grassland, home to vast herds of African game.
Animals, including White Rhino, Buffalo, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Nyala, Bontebok, Lechwe and many more species can be well spotted at the game park.
All the animals roam freely, unrestricted in natural surroundings. This owner operated animal-friendly park, where no hunting or other disturbance of the game is permitted, means that you always get close up views and great photo opportunities.

Addo Elephant Park
Now the third largest national park in South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park has expanded to conserve a wide range of biodiversity, landscapes, fauna and flora.
Stretching from the semi-arid karoo area in the north around Darlington Dam, over the rugged Zuurberg Mountains, through the Sundays River Valley and south to the coast between Sundays River mouth and Bushman’s river mouth, Addo covers about 180 000 hectares (444 700 acres) and includes the Bird and St Croix Island groups.
Today this finely-tuned ecosystem is sanctuary to over 600 elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The park can exclusively claim to be the only national park in the world to conserve the “Big 7” – the Big 5 as well as the southern right whale and great white shark off the Algoa Bay coast.
